The Dark Knight, AWESOME movie!

First, I just have to say that Heath did a really fantastic job as The Joker. In fact, I don't think anyone could have done it better. Basically, The Joker's portrayal as an insane, psychotic, killing madman was there. Throughout the movie there was this dark and tense atmosphere which just kept persisting, reminding you that The Joker is out there, ready to blow anytime, like a time bomb. In fact, whenever The Joker appeared, the tension was there, especially when he took out the knife, you ask yourself "Is it gonna do it? When is he gonna do it? How is he gonna do it?"

Second, there wasn't as much action as expected from such a movie. But the issues explored, such as moral dilemma, or whether the Law really metes out justice, or how strong really are a person's morals, made the joker character even more psychotic, and the movie more dark. One one hand you have an insane individual who kills for fun and entertainment, and on the other hand you have normal people, whose morals can be broken in an instant. In one scene, The Joker threatens if a certain person is not killed within 60 minutes, then a random hospital in the city will be blown up. And there you have it, people who would never have killed anyone in their life, would rush to murder that certain individual, even though he's also innocent, and not even an enemy.

Third, Batman wasn't really the most important character in the movie. He definitely played a reduced role this time, as if The Joker took away his spotlight (which I believe it to be so). Anyway, he's still badass, but not that badass anymore. Not like a saviour to Gotham City which can overcome all problems, but just a hero who is also faced with the same problems a normal civilian faces. I guess that was why the movie was more tense and dark anyway.

The movie left a deep impression in me, especially Heath's potrayal of The Joker. The show's definitely not for the younger audience, but those who are older and are able to understand the more complex issues posed in the movie, which makes it awesome.
