If there's one poignant thing I've learnt from the experience in relocating building, that would be the peoples' characters.
I think the most important thing here is that I've gained immense respect and admiration for the movers. No doubt they don't have high qualifications, but they're definitely are damn well educated. Not book-smart, but everything else. Through them, in just a short period of like 1 week, I've learnt more important things about life than what I've learnt in school for the past 10 odd years. The kind of teamwork, tenacity and level of street-smart they display is exceptional. I salute them for this.
Juxtaposing these "lowly-educated" workers with the supposedly highly-educated officers working in the building. I can only say one thing, I've lost much respect from them. These people are either living in their ivory towers of ignorance, thinking they are all high and mighty, when actually they aren't. So what if they can do these highly important stuff? I can do them too once I learn. But can they do the things that the movers (and myself) do? I doubt it. All I saw from most of these people are their inflexibility, which can be so bad it becomes stupidity, and just makes me want to scream at them, "Can't you use your fucking brain to think? You get a damn degree for what?"
Heh, not only that, they're aloof, for whatever reasons I cant fathom. They're also selfish, demanding and lack compassion, not to mention they're rude.
Ah I wonder what our education system is breeding? In theory, these people should be highly capable and effective and have sufficient EQ and IQ to handle other people. But reality shows otherwise.
Absurd!
