Away..
Monday, June 1, 2009

I haven't been here for quite a while already. Honestly, there hasn't been anything really interesting to talk about. Oh the weather, yeah, it's really humid and hot these days. And with me in my nerdy self now, yes, humidity does increase the perceived temperature. For example, it's a hot day of 33 degrees, but it is also a very humid day, you will thus find yourself feeling a degree or two hotter than the actual temperature of 33 degrees. This is because (lol, I love doing these nerdy stuff) the heat loss from the body via moisture is decreased as the atmosphere is more saturated with water molecules. The opposite applies, if the air is dry, you'll definitely feel cooler than the actual temperature. And that is also why our air conditioners don't exactly feel the way cold (temperate) counties do.

Right, I realised I have just rambled on an entire paragraph on something all of a sudden. But truth be told, nothing much has been going on these days. Driving? Yeah, I don't like my instructor, he yells at me for every single little thing I do. It's totally demoralising. I'm paying him good money to teach me how to drive, not to get yelled at. It's no wonder why I want that manual license right now. All that effort I put in (including enduring his yelling, which I am only at the 50% mark) better pay (no pun intended) off well i.e. I don't wanna get some lousy tester who purposely fails me because he has reached the quota or just because he doesn't like me. Either way, I can't wait for August 19 to come.

In other news, I do get bored travelling from Bukit Gombak to Kovan every day to and fro. It's a 1 hr plus trip every time so I really do get bored on the bus sometimes (not to mention I have to like, wake up early). At any rate, I got sick of the bus this evening because it was so hot and stuffy and there was heavy traffic so I alighted at Bishan (tch, could have alighted at Toa Payoh and I'd have saved an additional 10 to 15 minutes) and took the new Circle Line. When I went to the Waiting Area, I was like "Woah, awesome man, this looks so spacious and looks like the airport". And truth be told, it was really spacious. There were 5 escalators down to the platform area which you can imagine how big the place would be. Had a nice ride to Serangoon and then transited to Kovan. Ah, the walkway in the Serangoon station was nice too, bigger and better than some airports you see overseas man. Anyhow, I reached home earlier than usual, so that's all good.

Alright, this is me signing off now, since there ain't many other things to mention about, 8 months to ORD isn't something very near either. So yeah, will update in time to come.

Oh and Kareen, if you're reading this, I know blood tests suck, I've been taking them once every so often for years already, and the dreaded feeling of that piercing needle hasn't gone away yet (though I can look at the needle piercing into the skin now without any fear). Then there's also that aftereffect of feeling giddy if too much blood is drawn. But hey, think positive, after all there are many worse things in life. Don't give up, the light is still shining as brightly as ever! :)
