I woke up today to news that made me realise I am indeed not getting any younger any longer.
A JC classmate of mine's father had passed away. It is really a sad thing to lose your parent at 25, and especially before you get married and have your life and career stabilised and on your own. Memento mori.
K went for her sleepover with her secondary school friends. So she was sharing with me and A, or rather, actually sharing mostly with A that one of her friends is considering BTOing soon. Yeah, sometimes I forget the girls are 2 years my junior and so they're pretty much BTOing at 24. Sure it takes about 3 years to get a flat, but hey, then again, isn't it a sign of getting married already?
We're already at that age where marriage, sickness, death are becoming issues that are more common. Gone are the halcyon days of youth and simplicity. Indeed, we're facing the realities of life. We have to work hard and earn our keep as the Lord has decreed.
Father, increase my faith in Thee and give me peace in my earthly sojourn.
"For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee." (Isaiah 54:10)
