Dreamt an extremely interesting dream. I was an observer at some kind of assessment centre. The place was a very clean, large white room, very empty. Kind of like those you see in the movies, just an empty space, all white, with clean floors. In the centre there were two rows of tables, the long kind that stretched pretty far. And there were candidates, about 16 of them doing some tests / experiments to test their skills / knowledge / medical know-how. Everything seemed very high tech and clean, and therefore cool.
So later I somehow overheard that the last assessment question was going to be very tough and it was something on the line of seeing how people took initiative rather than sit behind and be passive in many things. And then, I was somehow part of the assessment centre, as dreams always take you to weird things. I was on one of the rows, second last, at a larger white table with seats this time. It was meal time, so all the candidates were seated down and having their meals. So then I was there, in front of me empty as I watched the other candidates around me get their meals. The candidate across me complained, saying his meal tasted terrible. And wished that it could have been better. Suddenly, the examiner, who was the assistant appeared and said, "Alright, I'll take your meal away then, since you didn't like it. And she politely removed the meal tray and cleaned the table." Observing further, the same examiner lady also kept appearing to help out people when they were musing or requesting for something aloud. Later, when the candidate on the right asked me aren't I going to eat. I said "Later, I'm observing everyone." The examiner lady then appeared with my food, knowing that although I was observing people, I was just lazy to get the food as well.
Having gotten the food, I tried it, and it tasted horrible, literally the worst food I've ever eaten. So then, I resisted blurting out anything, and suddenly I'm realising that this 'meal' was the final assessment question, it was all about taking initiative and doing things that could be done by the person first without complaining. I kept quiet, and then started to stack up the food on the tray before carrying it to the waste disposal point. There, I saw the examiner lady walking towards the bin as well. I quickly walked up, said, "Here, let me help you with that," and lifted the bin lid for her. I then dumped the contents of my food in there, commenting that this must be the first time anyone has actually helped her out at the bin area, and said it was a very very tough question. She smiled and told me that was true.
Alright that was pretty much it for my dream. But my point was that the concept behind this last question was so cool because it's so layered in terms of its concept and so indirect. How did my brain just process all that in my sleep? I mean, I woke up thinking it was cool movie plot and my brain just thought of all of that?! I still think its from some movie I've watched though. || posted by Kuan Hui
