Words do carry a lot of weight to me, especially if they come from people close to me. Negative words from my close relations particularly hurt, because the words that they speak are taken in as a direct interpretation of how they see me. Like a wellspring, encouragements fill it up plenteously, and negative words dry up my wellspring of joy quickly.
