Wednesday Prayer Meetings are done for the year. Next week will be Christmas Eve service and I'll be off to Bangkok and Pattaya with my family. Come to think about it, it has been a while since I last travelled overseas with my family. The last time was a trip to Taiwan in 2011. Three years. I remember I used to travel with the family almost every year. This is certainly expected as I grow up and commitments change. Coming to think about it, I probably won't get to travel much with my family in the future once work starts and my parents grow older, so this has become the cycle of life as time ticks on. Recalling Church Youth Camp, I am to honour my father and my mother, because they are indeed the representatives of God, having given me my life as it is.

The Bible is such a wonderful book. It tells us to honour our parents because that isn't only right is God's sight, but also because we will reap our rewards on earth through caring for them and loving them.

May Thailand provide me with a good family trip even though travelling with parents has a very different dynamic from travelling with friends. || posted by Kuan Hui
