Once again I am humbled. Meeting with TPTC's Mr Yeo told me something instantly: that he was no educated person and very rough and direct in demeanour. Speaking to him was refreshing because of the forthright attitude he displayed. Too many times I am apt to think I am very talented and intelligent when I hang out with like-minded people and friends. Today's meeting humbled me once again, showing how wisdom far outweighs intelligence. How experience and the willingness to do the ground work is way more valuable than intellect and high level thinking. I remember the last time I really felt like that was speaking to my senior manager during my NS. I always knew him to be a quiet, reserved man, not imposing at all. But the wisdom that he spoke made me understand why he was the head of an entire department and wiser than all my other managers, especially since he wasn't very educated either.
EDIT: Okay I'm gonna leave the top part unchanged because it shows how much I am judging others. Mr Yeo is educated, maybe not scholar-level educated but still educated. Another lesson to me not to judge because someone's demeanour might be rough and brash. || posted by Kuan Hui
