Kuan: Dale, you know he was clearly wrong when he spoke about the Voyager spacecrafts.
Dale: Yes of course, the Voyager 2 was launched before the Voyager 1.
Kuan: So why did you agree with him then?
Dale: My dear friend, we were at a joyous gathering. He didn't ask for your opinion, he didn't want it. Why argue with him?
Kuan: But all I wanted to do was to correct his mistake, so he would be right the next time round.
Dale: I understand. Perhaps telling him that Voyager 1 had indeed reached Jupiter and Saturn before Voyager 2, and that the launch was delayed by 2 weeks so that Voyager 1 could take a faster trajectory and have a greater speed than Voyager 2. Arguing with him directly with facts will only put him in an embarrassing situation and make it seem like you're putting him down. || posted by Kuan Hui
