My 300th post! All the more fitting that I dedicate this to thanking God! :)
Psalm 100
1 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3 Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Psalm 100, a psalm of thanksgiving and praise. This is not the first time I've written about this psalm but the beauty and gratitude that comes from it is simply amazing.
Everything I have comes from the Lord, and is pre-ordained by Him. Thank God that I am born in wealthy and safe Singapore. Thank God that I have a comfortable roof over my head, a nice computer to play games and do work with, a nice bolster to hug, a nice bed to put my head down on. Thank God for my ever-understanding parents, who are healthy till today. Thank God for my two younger brothers, whom I have had the privilege of being their elder brother. Thank God for my relatives, especially my aunt and my cousins who have taught me about God since the day I was born. Thank God for my intellect and my ability to type this in fluent English. Thank God for my health and my strength. Thank God for resilience of mind. Thank God for every beautiful morning, and quiet night, that I am able to speak to my family, and my friends, speaking about the casual and banal, to the deep and thoughtful conversations. Thank God for my hardships and my emotional rides, that have made me stronger, and grow closer to You. Thank God for every good time I have spent with my family, my friends, and the stories and books that I have read. Thank God for every breath that me, my family, my friends take, for every moment spent together, is a tender mercy from You. Thank God for smiles, for tears, for frustrations, for laughter, for joy. Thank God that I know You, that I have the heart to always seek You, even though I stumble and fall daily, even though I am a wretched sinner. Thank God that I can type this out right now in my praise of You. || posted by Kuan Hui
