The song Calvary reminded me of this beautiful word. Sometimes I am apt to think I am doing good, and that my conduct on earth is pretty good. Not quite. My personal brand of righteousness is nothing compared to God's righteousness, and this word is simple represented in the most elegant way in the Chinese character. On our own, we are unable to save ourselves, it is the blood of the Lamb, shed for my sake, that I am saved, redeemed, loved, justified in God's eyes. That no matter how terrible and shameful my sin, I can take solace in God, for He has forgiven us because Jesus' blood has covered me, and made me pure and white. Truly no other word expresses Jesus as the cornerstone of our lives: the Lamb over me. I see this character, and I am always reminded of God's love, God's grace, God's sacrifice for me.
