Proofreading through JC Ryle's Commentary on John on the account of Jesus' crucifixion, I am comforted by two thoughts:

1. I can be sure with full certainty that every step in obeying and honouring God is a positive step towards true peace.

2. I am encouraged and given hope even by the tiniest of things, knowing that God is my provider and my source of everything. "For who hath despised the day of small things?" (Zechariah 4:10)

I am given the strength to finally cast all my worries and troubles and wants at His feet. Telling Him daily to take it all because I want to rely fully on Him. || posted by Kuan Hui
