"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15)

Brother William showed me this article the other day which exposed the dangers of legalism that the BP churches are all so prone into falling into, due to the strict and structured way in which we conduct our worship services. Reading it and the related articles made me realise that I myself have also been guilty of keeping the law for the sake of keeping it in fear of God's punishment and feeling good that I have accomplished it. And yet I am dead to the law, as I transgress against it daily, in which the punishment is death. I have in some aspects neglected that the true focus of keeping the law of God is through the love of Jesus Christ, and that through a grateful heart for Him doing everything to redeem me that I am saved. I confess it still is extremely tough to consider the gravity of what Christ did and to appreciate the infinite love in doing what He did for me, and reading these articles along with John MacArthur's The Freedom and Power of Forgiveness have helped me understand a little more of the amazing power of Christ's sacrifice for me. It was through an infinite unconditional love, something so great and magnificent that it resides in a higher dimension, incomprehensible to me except through the Holy Spirit.

There's still miles and miles to go in the study of the bible, and I hope every day I get to love God a little more. Baby steps.
