Scrolling through Facebook when I saw an old picture of my primary school teachers. Spotted my old PE teacher and I recalled an incident which reminded me of the brightest spot in my primary school life.
It was primary 3 when I met this fellow friend of mine. We shared the same interests in science, games, and perhaps character. I remember we did projects outside of school time for our teacher, though admittedly I believe he did most of it. School holidays at his place was something I thoroughly enjoyed. He did pretty much everything better than me, studies, interactions, what have you. We were both prefects, and I remember one time during our recess duties at the back of the school, we found a cigarette dumped in the drain, improperly stubbed. Being curious investigators we pretty much tried to deduce the smoking culprit. Retracing the people who walked in that area, we realised that there was someone who sneakily walked to the back of the school for a couple of minutes. It was our PE teacher! We debated then and furrowed over whether this incident should be reported to our VP. We didn't.
Prertt amazing of my friend to get through both rounds of GEP. That was a huge crying point for me, I lost a really close friend and a buddy. I think my primary school left went downhill the next year onward. But wow, recalling the things we did, I was pretty much just copying him in many behaviours. He led I followed. What a strange way to remember something which I had not thought of. || posted by Kuan Hui
